Field Trip Friday 24th April 2015

If you have booked to come on the field trip to Lyminge, the coach will leave promptly at 11.30am from the Keynes College bus stop, marked on this map with a red bus symbol, next to the Keynes College building (N6). The coach is due to return to campus by 4pm. If you have not booked for the field trip to Lyminge by 17th April 2015 we will not be able to take you on the coach on the day as space is limited. The tour includes a lunch break and delegates can avail themselves of the pub or coffee shop in the village, or you may wish to bring your own lunch.

Location

The Conference is taking place in the Grimond Lecture Theatre 1, in the Grimond Building, (J6 on map). All sessions, including the keynote address, will be taking place in this lecture theatre. The keynote address is at 5pm on Friday 24th April.

The registration desk will be located in the vicinity of the Grimond Lecture Theatre 1. There is information on the map regarding getting to the correct Canterbury campus from a station or by car. If you are taking a taxi, please do remember that there are two universities in Canterbury. We are holding the conference at the University of Kent, Canterbury campus and NOT Christchurch, Canterbury University.

Accommodation

If you have booked campus accommodation, the rooms are located in Keynes College (N6 on map). All bedrooms have a private shower and toilet and all rooms are comfortably furnished. Tea and coffee making facilities are also provided.

Check-in is from 14:00 on your day of arrival and check-out is by 10:00 on your day of departure. To collect your keys, please visit Keynes Reception.

Receptions are open from 08:00 to 20:00 daily. If you are due to check-in to your accommodation after reception has closed you will need to contact Campus Watch Security upon your arrival who will open reception. Located outside Keynes Reception is an internal telephone that you can use to dial through to security (their number is provided).

Bedrooms are serviced daily and provided with towels, linen and complimentary toiletries.

Delegates are asked to familiarise themselves with the University’s evacuation procedures, which are displayed on the back of the door in each bedroom.

Breakfast is provided in Dolche Vita, Keynes College (N6 on the map) between 07:45 and 09:30 and you will be required to show your room key to prove residency.

Parking permits

Parking permits and wifi-logins will be issued at the registration desk located in the Grimond building (J6), or if you are arriving when the desk will not be open, please get in touch with Dr Alexandra Knox who can arrange parking permits to be collected elsewhere or sent to you directly.
